Santa Coloma de Gramenet is formed by her neighbourhoods and by people who live in them. For the future we will only be able to continue planning the city through the impulse of the districts that compose it.

The decided action of Santa Coloma City Council in improving and adapting these districts of the city devotes a special chapter to Fondo, El Raval, Santa Rosa and Safaretjos. With an integrated raising about the urban renewal, the main objective of the municipality interventions is the approach of this part of the city to downtown, strengthenning the social, economic and territorial cohesion of  the whole city.

The construction of the Fondo Boluevard- in 1995- and the development of the URBAN programme and the intervetions of  European Union Cohesion Fund , later,  were the fisrt outcomes of this will to link and to endow with city planning quality the areas of the city, that in those moments, were more needed.

Now, with the project known as the integral reform of Serra d'en Mena, we face a new improvement action.

In 2004 the Santa Coloma de Gramenet City Council jointly with the Badalona City Council decided to impel a project of integral intervetion in our own neigbouring districts, with Consell Comarcal del Barcelonès.The project  was presented in the first announcement of the well known as "Llei de Barris" - in 2004- and was declared as beneficiary by the Housing authority of Catalan Government.

It is necessary to take stock and to account for to the ambitious working program that we will develop for the next years. 

More than hundred interventions that will improve the city and its cohesion and that will increase the quality of life of the inhabitants. For that reason our motto is Santa Coloma goes further. Thus, it becomes necessary to share this exciting transformation challenge-.
