Thanks to the implementation of the ordinance for incorporating systems capture solar energy, energy saving and rationalization of water uses, which has been achieved in just over a year the city already has in the process of installation in more 50 points to sustainable energy production.

Finally, the plan is designed to expand the production capacity of photovoltaic energy during the period 2008-20012.

It foresees the installation of 5260 new photovoltaic modules, capable of producing 828 MWp, with an estimated annual production of 22.45 MWh. The total area of new plates planned to install photovoltaic is 15780 sq metres. Multiply in thirteen times the current installed surface.

Incorporation of systems to improve energy efficiency and renewables. New public hauses promotion

Systems capture solar energy for heating water: 102 houses promoting urban Front River, about 130 feet to the promotion of the Pyrenees and 40 public housing neighborhoods, Raval and Fondo.

Polygons of companies bosc Llarg: here the production photovoltaic energy reaches 9 Kwp.

 Central Library:The plates installed photovoltaic generating an output of 10Kwp.

Cementiry Municipal Project, with an output of 100 kWp. The energy produced will go directly to the network in ways that help to increase the proportion of clean energy that will reach households.

The installation of Cemetery could provide electricity for 220 homes and generate 124,500 kwh annually.

 

Master plan of street lighting

Currently under way the Master Plan of public lighting, to order all proceedings in this matter and encourage the reduction of light pollution and improving energy efficiency. This plan includes a diagnosis that zoning the streets of Santa Coloma and applies the type of lighting needed depending on the use of the track and the needs of citizens.
The plan, currently under approval by the city council, provides an investment of 9 billion euros.

The plan adequately for Stages of Public Lighting installations has been strengthened with an action plan for the Lighting by the Municipal Maintenance Service.
This plan, being implemented in different stages, has the following objectives:

  • Reduce energy consumption of facilities.
  • improving the lighting in sparsely uniforms.
  • Installation points of light where there is little or insufficient lighting.
  • Starting the process of adapting facilities to the new regulation of Light Pollution.
  • Providing facilities more efficient and modern equipment, allowing for adequate maintenance, and replace everything that has deficiencies or obsolete.
